Masqueraders parading in colorful costumes are the highlights of Carnival. Feathers, plumes, bright-colored silks, and satin with jeweled and hand-beaded designs adorn beautiful dancers as they stroll from near the Charles River to Central Square to University Park Commons. Applications will open on April 1st.
The Route
This year’s parade route spans 1.3 miles. The parade starts at 12:30 pm sharp on Blackstone Street between Western Avenue and River Street near the Charles River. The parade runs up River Street, passes through Central Square along Massachusetts Avenue, continues right onto Sidney Street, and ends in University Park Commons, Cambridge.
