Join us for our 22nd Year of Fun on Sunday, September 7, 2014 RAIN OR SHINE!
As we celebrate of 22nd year in Cambridge, we look forward to participation of the entire Cambridge community, our neighbors in surrounding cities and visitors from afar. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for the best Carnival ever!
FINAL DEADLINE TODAY FOR CAMBRIDGE CARNIVAL VENDORS
IMPORTANT CHANGE IN VENDOR LOCATION
Due to construction on Main Street in the areas in front of the MBTA and Marriott Hotel, the craft and non food vendors who are usually placed in that area have been moved to Ames Street (closer to the food vendors and main stage). These vendors will be placed on Ames Street between Broadway and Main Street. This is a 2 year construction project, so be prepared to be in that location for the next 2 years.
Carnival is Rain or Shine, just like it is in the Islands and tropics, so put on your rain gear and join us. We’ll be there! Please check our website for updates as the weather progresses.
Cambridge Carnival is a colorful and festive celebration rooted in African traditions. This free festival, embarking on its 22nd year, is considered a Cambridge Institution, and is the largest festival in Cambridge, with thousands of attendees. The highlight of the festival is a grand costume parade accompanied by rich rhythmic musicality promoting all types of cultures. Participants can be seen as revelers masquerading through the streets in dazzling handmade costumes, dancing to the beat of the Carnival. The festival is also an opportunity to celebrate Cambridge’s diversity, enjoy international foods, and purchase multicultural crafts from around the world!
