KidsFest


Cambridge Carnival KidsFest is a hands-on interactive activity zone for children of all ages. Join us for stilt walking demos, story telling, face painting, balloon art, and arts and crafts activities. Most of the activities are free.  

KIDSFEST IS LOCATED ON AMES  STREET BETWEEN MAIN STREET AND AMHEARST STREET IN KENDALL SQUARE.

2016 Schedule: 

Arts and Crafts12-6PM

  • Fun with beading, coloring, make-your-own hat, foam arts and crafts, games, etc.

Games – 12-6PM

  • Bean Bag Toss, Bowling, Horse Shoe Toss

Winchester School of Chinese Culture – Jennifer Zhang – 11AM-6PM 

  • Kids and parents can learn to make origami lotus flowers. Free to everyone

Our school is a non-profit organization. We have been around for over 10 years. We are volunteers promoting traditional Chinese culture.

Science Club for Girls – 12-6PM

  • Fun science experiments accessible to families and children

Science Club for Girls is a nonprofit organization based in Cambridge that increases confidence and literacy in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for underrepresented girls by using experiential and hands-on learning in out-of-school time clubs by maximizing interactions with female mentor scientists.

Cambridge Wildlife Puppetry Project – 1-3PM

  • Roaming butterfly and moth puppets of actual species that live in Cambridge, most of which are made by community groups

One City One Story – Boston Book Festival – 12-3PM

An independent nonprofit group based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded in 2009 by Deborah Z Porter, and aims to “celebrate the power of words to stimulate, agitate, unite, delight, and inspire by holding year-round events culminating in an annual, free Festival that promotes a culture of reading and ideas and enhances the vibrancy of our city.” This free annual book festival combines a street festival in Copley Square with an array of panel presentations by authors and other literary presenters from around the world. Its goal is to make a short story available to all, free of charge, to spread the joy of reading for pleasure among the teens and adults of our city, and to create a community around a shared reading experience.

Face Painting (with Angela Owens & Radiant Jasmin) – 12-6:00PM

Open Air Circus – 1-3PM

  • Stilting Workshop and Demonstration

The Open Air Circus is a non-profit circus offering summer classes for children, as well as workshops and performance opportunities to people of all ages.  They will be teaching young and old to stilt at the Cambridge Carnival in the kids corner.

Roaming Railroad Train Rides – 12-6PM

  • Train rides for families and children
