Masqueraders parading in colorful costumes are the highlights of Carnival. Feathers, plumes, bright-colored silks, and satin with jeweled and hand-beaded designs adorn beautiful dancers as they stroll from near the Charles River, to Central Square, to University Park Commons. Applications will open April 1st.
The 30th Cambridge Carnival Festival is happening on September 8th, 2024 from 11am-5pm
The Route
This year’s parade route spans 1.3 miles. The parade starts at 12:30 pm sharp on Blackstone Street between Western Avenue and River Street near the Charles River. The parade runs up River Street, passes through Central Square along Massachusetts Avenue, continues right onto Sidney Street, and ends in University Park Commons, Cambridge.
